ELOPRAL CAPSULES (Loperamide Hydrochloride Capsules I.P.)

ELOPRAL Capsules contain Loperamide Hydrochloride I.P., an effective anti-diarrheal agent used for the control and symptomatic treatment of acute and chronic diarrhea. Therapeutic Indications Acute non-specific diarrhea Chronic diarrhea of various causes Diarrhea associated with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) Reduction of stool volume in ileostomy patients Mechanism of Action Loperamide acts on opioid receptors in the intestinal wall, slowing intestinal motility and increasing absorption of fluids and electrolytes, thereby reducing the frequency and volume of stools. Dosage & Administration Dosage should be taken as directed by the physician. Capsules are to be swallowed with water. Discontinue use if constipation or abdominal distension occurs. Precautions & Warnings Not recommended in children below prescribed age, or in cases of bloody diarrhea or bacterial enterocolitis without medical advice. Use with caution in patients with hepatic impairment. Do not exceed the recommended dose.
