Description

Indomethacin Capsules contain Indomethacin I.P. 25 mg, a potent non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used for the treatment of pain, inflammation, and stiffness associated with various acute and chronic inflammatory conditions.

Rheumatoid arthritis

Osteoarthritis

Ankylosing spondylitis

Acute gouty arthritis

Bursitis and tendinitis

Musculoskeletal and joint pain

Mechanism of Action
Indomethacin works by inhibiting cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes, thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins responsible for pain, inflammation, and fever.

Dosage & Administration

Usual adult dose: 25 mg two to three times daily or as directed by the physician.

Should be taken after meals to minimize gastric irritation.

Precautions & Warnings

Use with caution in patients with history of peptic ulcer, gastrointestinal bleeding, renal or hepatic impairment, hypertension, or cardiovascular disease.

Not recommended during pregnancy, especially in the third trimester, unless clearly advised by a physician.

Long-term use requires medical supervision.

Possible Side Effects

Gastric irritation, nausea, abdominal pain

Headache, dizziness

Rarely: gastrointestinal bleeding, edema, or hypersensitivity reactions
