Atta (also spelled Aata) is the traditional whole wheat flour from the Indian subcontinent, primarily used to make flatbreads like rotis, chapatis, and parathas. It is made by grinding the entire wheat kernel—including the germ, endosperm, and bran—which gives it a light brown color, high fiber content, and distinctive nutty flavor.
